this is the place

where my family settled down

my Dad served in the U.S. Army

a war not forgotten

he went airborne parachuting out of helicopters

and fought on the front lines

he was brave & fought till the end

Covina is where we grew up

where neighbors were like family

right on Neil Street

we met Neil, Blane & J.D.

schooled at Covina High School & Sunkist Elementary

downtown Covina theater we saw the Song Remains the Same

Sunday we watched Oral Roberts on t.v.

Dad did take us to see the Los Angeles Dodgers

Mom taught him how to drive

he grew up riding a Harley Davidson

worked at Raybesters Brakes

Mom looked after us read & educated us

i've been to Covina recently

it has changed but the memories still live

the law needs to change

they should be in a four year college degree program

not some monthly academy

these pigs need to be retrained

the Native Tribe in Standing Rock have stood their ground

good for them

the Veterans of war protected the real settlers of North America

when Bismark complained the pipeline would contaminate the water

driving is like a drug

you could live or die

spinning round from city to city

family is important to me

animals are much like us

they see they feel & they cry

but a household pet always knows his master

or when their cooped up in some hospital bed

a visit for a day is nice

this is Florida

my second home from my Native roots in California

living in a mobile home

palm trees spiraling in my view

the Sun always shines better in the south

have some unfinished business here

some past love, some future plans

i can't get enough of the rains

whether there in the west or east

living in a sober state of mind

feeling satisfied watching women fully clothed

working at People Ready

i rock steady as i chat with the passengers

not too proud to shovel or pick up trash along the roadside

using a jackhammer laying down pcp pipe warehouse work

carrying drywall & carpentry work

basically construction work

the sweat on my brow comes along Way

flowers always bloom so bright

colourful skies tropical birds

outdoor digs out door springs

rushing shores & sandy beaches

moon & sun always look good

whether the sunrise or sunset

i swear that girl could make me laugh

beautiful Black women, Cuban women, white women

in their pastel bikinis from Daytona 2 Miami Beach

standing, but not alone

where i'll lie someday

the dirt below could never hold me down

it is written GOD said that man

things look a little frightening & uncertain

still going to concerts this past Friday 

seen Chris Cornell with Soundgarden

catching a baseball game the Tampa Bay Rays with Steven Souza Jr.

expecting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to have a good season

beaches are great watching the waves & the babes basking in the Sun

spending time with my sons

renting movies from Red Box  50/50 with Seth Rogen was a great flick

appreciate the relationships i've had with women & their memories

nice to have my friend of 13 years to keep me co.

the Golden State Warriors look good the title belongs to them

the NBA can't throw the finals this year

gotta work Mon. working hard for the buck

got some good music videos recordings off Youtube

drink a lot of Coke a cola lately

im in pretty good shape health wise

praying daily puts your mind at ease

lookin up at the stars their guidance will someday get me home

we all have trials and tribulations

but we have to remember where we came from

going back to Church Sunday to help me get thru Saturday

got a band on stage that's on fire

people of all races have come to this place

have a Pastor with a good Word & room for good humor

GOD is looking for a heart that's pure 

who will lead His people to His Kingdom

Christian is a good thing

when a drink isn't the answer to your depression & despair

i hear an alarm going off in my ear

skies are changing, humanity is screaming for answers

you won't find in the politicians

can't find in an overrated adulterated world

the flesh gets thinner as the hair on your head fades into grey

all the thrills spills and deals we made on earth

won't be remembered in Heaven

just the love we shared with a desperate soul

we all have needs we all have dreams

it's a wonder to me how GOD takes the time to please us

if only we could give Him back what He deserves

when we have gone astray

He always welcomes us back with greater blessings than before

Christian is a good thing

it's the foundation that makes us whole again

it's the walk that keeps our shoulders straight

and it keeps our feet on solid ground

fishing or standing near the ocean watching the waters move

His promises will stand the test of time

when all hands will be joined in the holes in His hands 

that redeems our souls

the choice is totally up to you

the smiles, friendly talks you share with someone

could literally save lives & truth to make a difference

a woman's body is beautiful naked it can set a lonely man free

romance always steals the show

running miles in a day has it's freedom too

a motorcycle ride can open the highway wider

rivers & oceans turn tides with sharks tuna & large fish for game

football season is approaching

the Buccaneers Rams & Raiders

young QB's looking for a playoff spot

challenges & goals are what keeps the world turning

waves in Australia & Hawaii keep the surfers high

butterflies & dogs are on a happy trip of their own

the Church's singing & praying give thanks
