everyone thought you were a butterfly
so innocent
the daisies blush when you walk by
the stars at night count your steps
nature holds back it's tears for you
you don't have to give up
you don't have to hang your head so low
out of the cage
like a wild animal that can't be tamed
you don't care if you live or die
got some high
don't you hang up the phone
chasing the high down the streets
sleeping with the lights on
no one said
your survival
with medication
would be addictive
critical but curable
nobody gets in your way
loved ones will end your strength for defeat
all the faces you face everyday
speak truth
and some speak deceit
this whirlwind has got you in a spiral
something inside of you is strong and powerful
your flesh looks tired
but your eyes tell me this isn't over
