surfing thru the channels
couldn't help watching these gangs
displayed on cable as if they're important
these guys come out acting tough
but they hide behind some mask
they seem to come from different countries
different backgrounds, different excuses
looks like ganglands on tonight
time to stop ignoring the violence on the streets
if you want to live in America
you better appreciate your freedom
does living in a prison cell wake you up
if having your own family wakes you up
why not do that first instead of joining a cowardly gang
from what i've heard
their gang leaders use you, abuse & waste you
they take the bait while you sit in jail
don't live your hell on earth
if your tough join the military
don't mess with innocent lives
take your gangland warfare attitude
to some prison from the place you were born
some of us grew up through hard times
we've lived in poverty
there's never an excuse to pick up a gun or a weapon
drugs & alcohol won't help you with your decisions
be a man or a woman if you say you are
search & find the gifts given to you
GOD brought you into this world for a reason
