this is the place
where my family settled down
my Dad served in the U.S. Army
a war not forgotten
he went airborne parachuting out of helicopters
and fought on the front lines
he was brave & fought till the end
Covina is where we grew up
where neighbors were like family
right on Neil Street
we met Neil, Blane & J.D.
schooled at Covina High School & Sunkist Elementary
downtown Covina theater we saw the Song Remains the Same
Sunday we watched Oral Roberts on t.v.
Dad did take us to see the Los Angeles Dodgers
Mom taught him how to drive
he grew up riding a Harley Davidson
worked at Raybesters Brakes
Mom looked after us read & educated us
i've been to Covina recently
it has changed but the memories still live
like the mountains there somethings never change
