there was a day when i collected baseball cards
my older brother walked into my bedroom
while i put my baseball cards in order
he asked me seriously what concert would you like to see
at an early age of ten i said Lynyrd Skynyrd
reminds me of a bicentennial clock my Dad hung on the wall
this was back in '76 the summer i played little league baseball
at Northview in Irwindale
for my youngest brother on his birthday
gave him enough money so we could see
Led Zeppelin concert & beyond on film that was in '77
cheap seats that's where you will always meet me
low on money but high on life
you won't find me in the front row
but you'll find me as entertained as the people on stage
exposed to athletes rock stars & movies stars
quite early on seen the guys from Adam-12 during a live set
seen Jim Kelly star from Enter the Dragon
he waved at me & my brother at the Chinese New Year
in LA Chinatown
also met Al Downing from the Dodgers
who pitched to Hank Aaron that broke Babe Ruth's record
of 713 Al came to our third grade classroom
Dad & me met Jim Otto 00 for the Oakland Raiders
from the original '67 team when they became a franchise
live on TV seen a hero of mine, Michael Cohen
tell the truth about a liar where his life is a passing phase
men who spend time in prison should be guarded right
not one single man should be raped
by an animal locked in a cage
justice will win sick and tired of men doing time behind bars
sick and tired of sick people spreading
their disease of Aids to innocent young men & children
making queers out of boys
who could grow up to be handsome young fathers
like Jesus said
Woe to them who offend these little ones
better they were hanged in the depth of the sea
