we joke we sing
never knowing it could be our last breath

moments of childhood & happiness
that you're better than the reality you wake to every morning

the roads we drive on
lives are slaughtered on everyday
dreams are crushed
loved ones leave us
in loneliness
and only tears bring back the world they shared
we leave a meal in the wind
only to say i swear you're not far away
everyday dreams, i see a mother who longs for me
every book i read
seems closer than the page before
fruit is real
and seeds have been multiplied
i can see a window
and your shadow is a picture
i can bear to paint
